Thank You

Dear Hawes Families,

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the 'Food Can Drive'. We are so grateful for your generosity and kindness to others in all you have provided. We also thank our Edison High School alumni and parents, who collected all the food last Friday in the rain! We appreciate you all!

We hope you can join us this Friday for our All School Recognition Assembly at 8:45 am. If it is raining we will postpone it until the Friday after Thanksgiving Break.

Hawes is looking to update the marquee and get a front facing one on school building (like the back of school), so we can remove the outdated stand-alone. If any of you know of a local business that might want to partner with us to make this a reality, please contact me. Our amazing PTSA may be able to donate some of the funds but it is going to take our entire school community to make this happen. Then we will have the ability to program it remotely if needed and have an up-to-date system. Thank you for 'thinking outside the box' with me. I look forward to hearing about any matching grants that may be available.

Congrats to Makenna Beljajev for receiving the Hawes 'Every Student Succeeding' Certificate of Achievement at the district event last week. Makenna is a positive, humble student who has overcome many obstacles and yet, never gives up and always has a smile on her face. What a pleasure it was to attend the event with her parents, sister, Mrs. Borns, and Mrs. Rocha. Congratulations Makenna!

Thank you to all the families donating to PTSA. Mrs. Tucker's class won the honor of hosting Hawk Stuffie this week with six donations to the school! Please continue to donate what you can to help Hawes PTSA reach their fundraising goal this year. We appreciate you all!

Thank you Hawes Families for your ongoing partnership and support. Our Hawks continue to SOAR, and we're proud to share the Hawes is making strong progress on state testing (CAASPP) with high levels of achievement across grade levels. This growth is a true celebration of the daily dedication from our students, staff, and families.

After School Programs - Hawes is so fortunate to have many opportunities for our Hawks after school, and an incredible PTSA providing support for this. Please make sure your child knows what their dismissal routine is daily. This is important so that the office staff are not having to make last minute calls with upset students. If your child attends after school activities, please make sure you contact the supervisor/teacher for that program, not the school office. Thank you for being prompt in picking up your child every day.

FIRST TRIMESTER
  • November 21 - Western Day (wear your boots, hats, etc.)
  • December 19 - Pajama Day (wear your favorite cozy PJ's)

I look forward to seeing your child dress up for 'Western Day' on Friday 11/21/25.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! No school 11/24/25-11/28/25.
