Dear Hawes Families,
The training I attended last week in Riverside on High Reliability Schools with our district personnel was informative and inspiring.
At Hawes, we're growing stronger together through our High Reliability Schools (HRS) journey - focusing on building safe, supportive schools where students thrive. By using assessments to guide instruction, we ensure that every learner has what they need to succeed. Through strong partnerships between home and school, we're uplifting every child to soar to new heights.
We invite our Hawes families to support this important work and continue the distinction our school has so proudly earned. Hawes prides itself on those key indicators for success - where belonging, learning, and collaboration shine every day. Hawes Hawks: Safe. Supported. Soaring.
Please make sure you notify your child's teacher and the front office of any changes with Dismissal pick-ups for your child. It is essential that students get picked up on time and that changes are communicated as they occur. Please do not wait until the afternoon to notify the teacher/office, as they are busy working and may not see the message in time. We understand there may be emergency circumstances but whenever possible please notify us in a timely manner. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
You may see four orange cones in the front parking lot by the TK/K gate area. PLEASE walk onto the campus in between the cones for safety. We appreciate you not crossing the staff parking lot (by the bus zone) with your children. Please make sure you do not leave your bike where the bus drop-off area is ... thank you!
Here are the following monthly Dress Up Days for your information.
FIRST TRIMESTER
- October 31 - Crazy Day (wear crazy socks, hair, hats, etc.)
- November 21 - Western Day (wear your boots, hats, etc.)
- December 19 - Pajama Day (wear your favorite cozy PJ's)
Thank you for reinforcing the SOAR (Show Respect, Own Your Actions, Always Be Kind, and Ready to Learn) behaviors with your child at home. The consistency will help to instill the values in your child and our partnership is essential in giving a clear and consistent message to all the students. Hawes Hawks are doing a great job and it truly takes a village!
Don't forget to sign-up for a conference with your child's teacher. It will be a great opportunity to hear about all the learning that has been going on during the first few months of the school year. Please reach out to your child's teacher with any questions about your child.
We look forward to seeing you at the Family Picnic on 10/10/25.
In Gratitude,
Dr. Fran Hansell
