From playgrounds to parking lots, classrooms to custodial care, every project contributes to the long-term health, safety, and functionality of our schools. Here’s a snapshot of the essential work performed this summer:
Greener, Safer Grounds: Playfields and lawns across the District received targeted upgrades to improve safety, durability and appearance. Work included aerating, fertilizing, overseeding and leveling uneven areas, as well as refreshing compacted soil with nutrient-rich dirt and sand to promote healthy, resilient turf. These efforts, paired with districtwide tree trimming, ensure inviting outdoor spaces that can withstand heavy student use.
Campus Flow & Safety: Fresh striping on parking lots and playgrounds supports smoother traffic flow and safer student transitions throughout the day.
Opening Up Space: At Moffett Elementary, the removal of an existing portable made room for future enhancements and improved campus layout.
Modernizing Infrastructure: A full camera inspection of District sewer lines and comprehensive gas line testing ensures safety beneath the surface.
Security & Access: Continuous replacement of door hardware across multiple sites brought facilities up to modern security and accessibility standards.
Playground Refresh: Asphalt and surface repairs removed trip hazards and restored play areas to safe, fun conditions for students.
Lighting and Energy Efficiency: New exterior and LED classroom lighting upgrades increase visibility and energy efficiency across campuses.
Technology Upgrades: Technology installations were finalized to support the expansion of transitional kindergarten (TK) programs to meet student needs.
HVAC Maintenance and Upgrades: HVAC installation and servicing continue districtwide, with major system upgrades at Eader and Peterson Elementary to improve classroom comfort year-round.
Clean Spaces: Our custodial team accomplished a deep summer cleaning, with polished floors and refreshed carpets ready to welcome students and staff back.
