School Information

The Details for the Week:

Here are some of the key events and things to know:

Art: Our students will have art lessons this week with Mrs. Stern. This will be the last week of art until September.

5th grade events this week: If you are a 5th grade parent, please take note of the many activities this week and be sure to read the teacher's communication for more details.
  • Walk through the American Revolution (Zankich is Monday morning; Rocha is Wednesday morning and De Stefano is Wednesday afternoon)
  • Walking Trip to Sowers on Tuesday morning
  • Incoming 6th grade parent night at Sowers - Tuesday evening

PTSA Dine out night: Join us at Chipotle for a dine out night on Monday from 5 - 9 pm. Check out the flyer below for more details.

Lunch on the grass for grades 1 - 5: Due to the MANY activities we have in the lunch area this week, our students in grades 1-5 will be eating lunch on the grass field from Tuesday - Friday. Please send a smallish towel for them to sit on and please understand this is for students only.

CA sing: 4th grade will be performing the CA Sing during these times:
  • For parents: Tuesday June 3 at 1:45 in the lunch area. Please be prepared to come through the office and get a visitor.
  • For students: Thursday, June 5 at 8:45

TK field trip: is Tuesday. Please read your teacher's communication for details.

Kinder Tea parties: is Tuesday and Wednesday. Please read your teacher's communication for details.

Talent Show: is Friday, June 6 at 8:45 sharp. Parents are welcome to attend, but please know it is standing room ONLY for adults.
We do need help at 7: 30 am (or earlier) to move the lunch tables out of the area and then again once the show is over to move them back.

Running Club: Friday, June 6 is the LAST day of running club!

Registration information for the 2025-2026 school year

We are now accepting registrations for the upcoming school year. This is for all new, incoming students. If you currently attend TK, your enrollment information will be sent to your home school in the spring and you do NOT need to re-register.



Please understand that your child will not be registered until ALL required documents are submitted and verified.

Absent? Please contact the office

We encourage you to plan your trips over the scheduled breaks we have in place. As well, please make plans for day trips to Disneyland and other places for the weekend. We all understand how difficult it is when we are absent from work and the same holds true for students.

If your child is truly sick, please keep them home to recover. Students must be fever, vomit and diarrhea free for 24 hours prior to returning to school.

If your child is absent from school, please report this absence by emailing: Hawesattendance@hbcsd.us or by calling the school office at: 714.963.8302 then press 1.

Talent Show is Friday!

The talent show hits the stage this Friday, June 6 from 8:45 -10:45 am.
  • Families are welcome to attend!
  • Please pack a towel for your child to use as a cushion on the concrete while they watch the show.
  • Help is needed before school, Friday at 7:30-8:00 am to move all of the lunch tables and set up!
  • We need many hands to move the lunch tables for the show. Please consider getting your Friday strength workout with us! Once the show is over, we will need help moving the tables back into the lunch area.

Birthday Marquee Messages for Next School Year

All birthday marquee orders must be purchased either now or at the start of the school year. Please read all of the following details carefully to avoid unmet birthday announcement expectations! There are two different deadlines for purchasing marquee:

  • IF YOUR CHILD HAS A BIRTHDAY IN SEPTEMBER 2025, you must purchase the birthday and/or half-birthday marquee orders for before school is out on June 18th, 2025!
  • IF YOUR CHILD HAS A BIRTHDAY OCTOBER 2025-JUNE 2026 you must purchase the birthday or half-birthday no later than Tuesday, September 23RD, 2025 after we return to school.  

*PLEASE NOTE* Birthday postings go live on Friday evenings for the following week and are up all week. E.G. If your child's birthday is on a Tuesday, the post will go live the previous Friday and run through the Friday after their birthday.

PLEASE READ IF YOUR CHILD'S BIRTHDAY FALLS ON A WEEK THE SCHOOL IS CLOSED!!!! 

If your student's birthday falls on a week that the school is not open (e.g. Winter Break or Spring Break), their birthday will be on the Marquee the week before  the school is closed. NO birthdays are displayed on the marquee during the breaks.
