CBOC and Board members
Recognition of the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC)

The Board recognized the members of the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) for their dedicated service during Measure Q's implementation. With all Measure Q projects completed, the committee has now dissolved.

CBOC Members:
  • Andrew McEachin, PTA Representative (pictured third from the left)
  • Mike Mann, Business Representative (pictured third from the right)
  • Jennifer Jahnke, Member at Large
  • Jeff Flory, Member at Large
  • Nick Schwab, Parent Representative

The Board acknowledged the significant contributions made by each member to this initiative. The CBOC was important in ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the bond program. Their key responsibilities included reviewing expenditures, providing independent oversight, ensuring bond funds were allocated solely to facility improvements, and presenting annual reports to the public.

In response to a community request to name the STEM building at Sowers Middle School, staff provided an overview of Board Policy 7310, which outlines the district’s guidelines for naming buildings and facilities. The Board requested forming a committee to establish a process for naming district facilities.  The committee will make a recommendation to the Board by the end of the 2024-25 school year.
Amendment to Warehouse Lease Agreement

The Board approved an amendment to the warehouse lease agreement, allowing additional time to secure a permanent location for the bus storage facility.

The amended lease extends the agreement for an additional three years. The current rent is maintained for the first year, followed by 3% annual increases. The yearly lease cost is $363,984. The District will continue covering maintenance and repair costs paid from the General Fund.
